Dark Blue Awlgrip, white waterline, cream colored deck
Shamrock was constructed using state of the art cold-molding method. Structural components are of clear Douglas Fir and Marine Grade Okoume Plywood that has full Lloyd's marine and offshore certification, Lloyd's Registry Certificate 93/00051. West System Epoxy resin is used for structural bonding and reinforcing fabric lay-up throughout. Dupont Kevlar fabric provides an increase in strength and added impact resistance. The laminated wood/Epoxy skin imparts great hull panel stiffness and thermal/acoustic insulation. The entire hull skin and structure are built without the use of any type of foam, balsa or other type of porous core material.
The exterior surface is a complete Awlgrip paint schedule including redundant vapor barrier coatings below the LWL. The skin coat is Kevlar fabric in low- shrink epoxy resin to provide superior surface durability and finish and the highest degree of protection against seawater osmosis.
The Trinka dinghy, built to match the color and finish of the main boat with varnished trim and natural floor plates, has a full sailing rig, rudder & centerboard, along with a 9HP engine.
- (3) Air conditioners with reverse heat (master cabin, salon, pilothouse)
- Spectra 300 GPD Watermaker
- Oil Exchange system
- Fuel transfer system
- Northern Lights 9 kW generator (2020)
- Anchor windlass (hatch to anchor locker from forward cabin)
- (2) Glendinning retractable shore power cords (port & starboard sides)
Belkov shaftway design is a fundamental element of the unusually quiet operating noise levels. Solid 1" thick fiberglass thrust bulkheads are installed in the shaftway and massively reinforced with fiberglass. Aquadrive CV Shafts and Thrust Bearings are mounted in thrust bulkheads. The thrust of the propellers is transmitted to the hull by the Thrust Bearings in the thrust bulkheads. The CV Shafts drive the flexible connection between the Thrust Bearings and the engines, which allows the engines to float on soft mounts without the thrust load.
Filament wound fiberglass shaft tubes are continuous throughhull skins, epoxy bonded and heavily reinforced with fiberglass.
Propeller tunnels are configured to provide lower shaft angle, increased propeller efficiency and shallower draft. Tunnels are 1/4" solid fiberglass outer surfaces with Okoume/fiberglass layers totaling 1 1/4" in thickness. Strut palm and rudder port mounting areas are heavily reinforced with fiberglass and backing plates.
The cockpit and cabin soles are supported by a combination of box beams, which double as wire/mechanical ways, and structural bulkheads. The cockpit sole is isolated from the beams and bulkheads by Soundown's Sylomer Vibration Isolation Foam.
EcoSound Underwater Mufflers for main engine exhausts are integral to transom, hull sides and bottom. Low speed discharge is provided above LWL outboard, forward of transom and main discharge is provided at bottom of transom outboard.
Fuel tanks are located port and starboard at 230 gal. capacity each and are built from 5052 aluminum. Each tank has an awl paint finish including epoxy primer. Fuel tanks are secured and fully supported on continuous beds with neoprene sheeting on all bearing surfaces. Centerline mounted water tank s 95 gallons in a one-piece molded polyethylene potable tank with level sending unit and remote gauge. Holding tank is centerline mounted 35 gallon on-piece molded polyethylene with level sending unit and remote gauge.
The Deck consists of a continuous cold-molded deck, cabin house/coaming and cockpit structure constructed with materials similar to the hull. The one-piece structure is supported by and bonded to the bulkheads and structurals in the hull. The exterior surface finish is a complete Awlgrip paint schedule. The finish is reinforced with fiberglass fabric in low-shrink epoxy resin to provide superior surface durability and finish.
The deck is epoxy bonded to the hull along the full surface of the sheer clamp, bulkhead edges and mating structurals. The connection is continuous and rigid throughout and is not reliant on mechanical fasteners. The teak toe rail/rubrail is also bonded using West System Epoxy over the hull to deck joint providing added protections and structure at the hull to deck joint. Custom Stainless steel deck scupper grills are recessed into deck surface aft and inboard of toerail. Raised, flat landing surfaces are provided in cabin top for hatches to insure hatch installations. Four fixed portlights are supplied in the forward trunk cabin.
